In June 2021, little Vince was born in Breda, a city in the Netherlands. For Malisa and Esgher, this fundamentally changed their lives. As new parents, they faced new challenges in their daily lives. Although Vince was a happy baby, like many babies he didn't like being exposed to a big temperature change too quickly after a bath. This is because newborns freeze easily and their bodies cannot react quickly enough to the large temperature difference in the environment. This often meant that the relaxing bath ended in lots of tears and stress.

To make it more comfortable for his son, Esgher looked for a suitable solution. After some time, he came up with the idea of a heated changing mat. Wumby was born. As soon as he had the first prototype in his hands, he was thrilled. No more tears or whining after a warm bath, as Vince was kept nice and warm by the heated pad. His parents no longer had to rush to get him dressed. Thanks to the built-in heating element, the pad was not only a great discovery for the baby, but also for the father and mother.

Thanks to its special properties, the Wumby heated changing mat heats up to the desired temperature within a minute. The heating element can reach a maximum temperature of 37 degrees. The pad has a universal size so that every cover fits. This means that a new cover can be used at any time while the old one is being washed.

For Wumby, the safety of the baby is paramount, which is why the warm changing pad is exactly the right choice. This is because the heating element is operated with a 12-volt low-voltage system, which is only 15 watts. A thermostat is built into the pad so that the temperature does not exceed 37 degrees and the baby's sensitive skin is not burnt. The thermal protection also prevents the heating element from short-circuiting.

But Malisa and Esgher didn't want this comfort just for themselves. So they decided to help other parents and launched Wumby on the market.
