The Tuki learning tower from Mimodo awakens the spirit of discovery in toddlers
With the Tuki learning tower, children up to the age of eight learn about the world of adults. Manufactured in the EU and officially tested by TÜV, the learning tower fulfils high safety requirements and is tilt-proof in all directions. The Nature version of the Tuki learning tower is made of beech wood and has three locking levels that allow it to be adjusted to the child's height. With the Tuki discovery sling as an accessory, it can be used from nine months of age.
From the development of the prototype in the garage to international distribution
Mimodo AG was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in the municipality of Oberwil-Lieli in the canton of Aargau. The Swiss company develops furniture and furnishings that are characterised by first-class quality and functionality. The two young Swiss entrepreneurs Dominic Ill and Simon Thut, whose first names form the company name, laid the foundations for the company with the construction of the Tuki learning tower. The first piece of furniture was built in their parents' garage to allow Dominic's little sister to participate in life in higher spheres, especially in the kitchen and at the dining table.
Since then, the company founders have pursued the goal of allowing children to learn through independent observation and experimentation. With the Tuki learning tower, explorers can cook with their parents, eat at the table, play or do handicrafts and carry out other activities that are important for mental and motor development. Mimodo AG has further developed the initially heavy and bulky models and manufactures all components with partners in the EU. Over 200 specialised shops sell the product, which has now been brought to market maturity. The product is sold in seven countries: Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, Germany, Belgium, Denmark and England.
Learning towers from Mimodo AG are available in a wide range of colours and with accessories
Mimodo AG sells the Tuki learning tower, which is suitable for kindergarten children and primary school pupils, in various colours, including black, white and grey. This allows prospective buyers to purchase a model that exactly matches the furnishing style of their house or flat. The coloured learning towers are made of birch wood and environmentally friendly lacquers. Mimodo AG developed the current versions with designer Stefan Westmeyer, winner of the Red Dot Design Award 2023. In addition to the aesthetic design, the product offers anti-tip protection, a step and standing plate with three-stage height adjustability and easy assembly of the wooden veneers and metal parts.
Mimodo AG markets the Tuki learning tower with a range of ingenious accessories that increase safety, extend the product's service life and enhance its utility value. These include the tear-resistant explorer fabric with Velcro fasteners, the two-piece anti-slip mat set and the attachable slide with chalkboard for playing, colouring and writing. The six-piece felt glide set with click-in system protects the floor from scratches.
