The best business ideas often come about by accident, and this was the case with the founding of the Matchstick Monkey Company. Katie Windridge, the founder of Matchstick Monkey, was out with her daughter and had no help at hand to soothe her little one's toothache. That's when she realised she had to invent her own teething ring based on her sweet daughter's needs. When it came to choosing the look, Katie didn't have to think twice: Her daughter loved monkeys, so it was quickly clear that the teething rings had to have a monkey look. The name of the company was therefore also named Matchstick Monkey. Furthermore, the monkey bite ring for tiny hands had to be durable, pain-relieving and made of high-quality materials.

With the idea and the products, Matchstick Monkey quickly inspired many mothers and today has a large fan community. The Matchstick Monkey products are already distributed in over 36 countries.
