Julbo - much more than just a big name
Decades of experience, a love of experimentation and a spirit of innovation make Julbo the outstanding global player among eyewear manufacturers for outdoor activities. The French company is never satisfied: There are always new lenses, frames and challenges so that young and old can see optimally in sunlight. Fortunately, the company has also been developing glasses for children since the 90s. A world of great models makes even the smallest ones look great.

The origin lies on the highest peaks of the world
The name of great companies is often closely associated with an unusual entrepreneurial personality. Julbo is no different. The visionary founder Jules Baud laid the foundation stone in 1888 with the manufacture of prescription glasses before developing the first sunglasses for crystal seekers from Chamonix at the beginning of the twentieth century. High-mountain sunglasses place the highest demands on the developers: Nowhere is the sunlight stronger, nowhere is it more necessary to perfectly protect the eyes from too penetrating light from UV radiation. In 1950, Julbo Lunettes made their big breakthrough. Not only experienced alpinists use these glasses enthusiastically on their high mountain tours - rock stars are also enraptured by the stylish sunglasses. Model "Vermont" is considered a revolutionary pair of sunglasses and has since been traded as a collector's item. These glasses are glacier glasses even beyond the mountains! With sounding names like Everest, Annapuma and Makalu, the company shows its love for the infinity beyond the most fascinating peaks. But the traditional brand is not satisfied with that! New "eyewear summits" are being scaled: Eight-thousanders like Nanga Parbat and its conquerors are the inspiration for new models, as is Yannik Segneur, the technical advisor with a sense for what is possible. Because Julbo is also teamwork. No summit in the world is conquered by a single leader alone. There is always a team behind it, involved in groundbreaking developments: Julbo is responsible for perfect sun protection.
Even in the eighties, groundbreaking summit conquests continue. Julbo is alongside his partner Patrick Gabarrou, who takes on three north faces in the Mont Blanc massif in just seven days. Éric Escoffier also stands for the credo of higher, further and stronger: the passionate mountaineer climbs three eight-thousanders in a row in the Himalayas in just three weeks. What an achievement! Incentive also for Julbo to draw attention to itself with circular, brightly coloured sun protection.

1990: Julbo takes babies on board
It goes without saying that a company like Julbo never scales back its ambitions. Once it has become the leading provider of sun protection for extreme situations, the brand conquers new fields. What could be more natural than to dedicate itself to protecting the most vulnerable? Especially the eyes of babies and toddlers should be perfectly protected against excessive UV radiation - even on the beach. Under the heading "Junior", the brand develops children's sunglasses that make a name for themselves with unique material quality and highly developed lens technology. Children's sunglasses set chic accents that harmoniously underline the playfulness and imagination of the little ones' faces.
