Eichhorn - A market leader in the wooden toy segment

Eichhorn has been producing wooden toys for more than 60 years. Whether it's a train set, a shop or a doll's house, Eichhorn always stands for excellent quality. Incidentally, the company was founded as early as 1949 by Hermann Eichhorn. At that time, he developed, among other things, puzzle cubes, which enjoyed great popularity. Shortly afterwards, he designed what is probably the brand's best-known and most popular toy, the railway. Eichhornthe railway. No wonder that already in 1950 Eichhorn became the market leader in the wooden toy segment and still is. The company was based in the founder's home town of Egglham in Lower Bavaria, where more than 350 employees manufactured the products in the best times, until financial difficulties arose in 1995. The founder filed for bankruptcy that year.

Rescue by the SIMBA DICKIE GROUP

In 1998, the SIMBA DICKIE GROUP took over the company and one year later moved the entire production to the Czech Republic, near Prague. Here the toys were and still are lovingly produced by hand, which probably explains the great success and the expansion of the range to include garden play equipment (2007) and children's furniture (2008). However, the success story did not end there and so "The Collection" was introduced in 2010 and the product range was expanded once again. Since 2017, HEROS (chain building blocks) is also officially part of the brand. Eichhorn. HEROS (chain bricks) was awarded a Toy Award in 2014.
